Working with street artist eL Seed, Metro Creative director Walid Kafi travelled throughout the Middle East, producing a documentary highlighting the artist, his work, and the impact of bringing art to public space.
Since the documentary, eL Seed has created a street art project with the Qatar Museum Authority, colouring the roadside of Salwa. Metro Creative director Walid Kafi, documented the work of eL Seed as he produced 52 large-scale artworks in Doha. Commissioned by the Qatar Museum Authority, these artworks present a fresh perspective on traditional art form. Each piece is inspired by an aspect of life in Qatar, anchoring them into the countries culture. Speaking with the Qatar Museum Authority, eL Seed explains “Arabic graffiti has so much to offer the world and to see young Arab artists taking on the challenge of mixing modern experiences anchored in cultural and religious traditions is exhilarating”. Going on to appear as an educator, and communicator, eL Seed received a feature on TED X. EL Seed continues to travel around the world, sharing his art and message of unity through public artworks.
